Projects

AWS Projects
  • Create website using S3/Cloudfront - this website created using an S3 bucket enabled as a static website and Cloudfront distributions/AWS Certificate Mananger to enable SSL
  • Use Route 53 to manage a custom domain name - migrated custom domain to Route53 to integrate AWS services
  • EC2 instances - launched instance configured for public web access with a user data script to install and start an Apache web server on first run > created a custom AMI based on this instance > backed up the instance using AWS backup and implemented an automatic daily backup rule with custom retention
  • Create a custom VPC - VPC configured manually with the following: NACL, security groups, private/public subnets, EC2 instances, Apache web server, route tables, internet gateways
  • Cloudformation - Manually created Cloudformation YAML templates using Visual Studio Code to create Stacks: Provisioned EC2 instance > enabled HTTP(S), SSH inbound traffic > assigned EIP > Provisioned RDS database and enabled inbound traffic for the database > Created stack and updated it using AWS CLI
  • Lambda - created Lambda function that detects S3 activity; when activity is detected, a destination SNS topic was invoked to send an email alert
  • AWS Systems Manager - Configured and executed Automation tasks on a group of Linux EC2 instances in different Resource Groups

Interests

If I'm not studying for some kind of IT certification or messing around with AWS, I enjoy electric biking and hiking with my 8 year old daughter. Our most recent hiking trail led us up to a mountain with a hidden waterfall at the end.

I'm also an avid Audible listener during my commutes, while cooking (I make a killer Korean chicken soup), gardening, or even falling asleep. And, yes, you're right, I have headphones stuck in my ear for 90% of my existence.
